Our track record has proven over time that your feed storage solution will function at peak efficiency year after year provided routine maintenance is completed.

Like any fine piece of equipment, your system needs periodic checking, adjusting, cleaning and lubricating in order to deliver the feed volume desired. Completing routine maintenance will ensure your feeding system runs at peak efficiency and minimizes the risk of any high cost repairs being required in the future.

Our factory-trained technicians will keep your feeding system delivering the performance you demand.

Point Inspection

We offer a 15-point Quality Control Inspection for both grain and forage units. Our factory-trained technicians will check over everything from testing base bolt for proper sealant through to a complete inspection of the breather bags. This is the best way to ensure your structure is operating at its BEST performance.

The value of the feed you are storing is significant. It’s important to ensure you protect your investment. Nothing protects feed quality better than a Harvestore oxyge-limiting system.

The purpose of the 15-Point Inspection is to ensure that your System is operating correctly, in order to provide the proper environment to maintain excellent quality feed. This inspection can be done at any time and with any level of grain or forage in the structure.

The interval checklist includes:

  1. Warning/Safety decals legible and in position
  2. Ladder in position and in safe repair
  3. Cage in position and in safe repair
  4. Walkway in position and in safe repair
  5. Blower pipes and mounting brackets secure

Service Tips

Routine Maintenance for Your Structure

Although you may not be able to perform all the routine maintenance required that our technicians can, you will be able to regularly follow a checklist to minimize any unforeseen problems potentially avoiding larger problems or breakdowns.

Follow the checklist below to stay aware of your systems and ahead of any problems.

Service Tips for your unloader:

  • Tighten conveyor chain at least once a month (check out the video below)
  • Grease unloader at least once a month. A 1/2 tube to the center post
  • Always clean off gasket on the unloader door to keep the silo sealed properly

Service Tips for your Structure:
Always check your haylage, corn silage, high moisture corn to feel if it is warm. Warm feed indicates there is an air leak in the silo, and it should be checked out.

Questions to Consider:
If your unloader is delivering slow, here is a few questions to consider:

  • How good is your dome? Have you lost the dome?
  • Are the hooks on the unloader worn out?
  • Is there a groove in the floor? The arm could be dragging on the floor.
  • Is the cutter chain loose?
